How to fill all 13 Etsy tags with a high-impact mix.

Etsy gives you exactly 13 tag slots per listing. Most sellers waste 3-5 of them on duplicates or single words. The Tag Generator fills all 13 with high-intent phrases.
The 13-tag formula
- 3 broad tags (high search volume, high competition): 'silver necklace', 'gift for her'
- 5 long-tail tags (lower volume, higher conversion): 'dainty silver heart necklace gift'
- 3 occasion or gift tags: 'birthday gift', 'anniversary gift', 'gift for wife'
- 2 attribute tags: 'sterling silver', 'hypoallergenic'
Rules Etsy enforces
- Each tag is max 20 characters (including spaces). Listomize enforces this automatically.
- Multi-word phrases work better than single words. 'silver' alone is wasted; 'silver necklace' is gold.
- Don't repeat words across tags (Etsy penalizes redundancy).
- Use lowercase — capitalization doesn't help and looks unprofessional.
Heads up
Tag stuffing is a myth. Etsy rewards relevance, not keyword density. Every tag should be a phrase a real shopper would actually type.
